Does anybody have any idea's for hotels? Like where have you stayed before? I have heard that you can't pick up items till Sunday is this true?

I plan on going again this year. Last year I just drove over one day and WOW it was so much fun....Lots of info and stuff and folks to talk with. I had so much fun I almost forgot to pu my dog from the Oster Theatre where he was being used as a demo dog.

There were many hotels/motels around the area. I will probably stay over this year. I was going to compete also/but that is still not a deffinate. I got lots of freebies and info/ so dont forget your business cards ... and yep spent many a $$$ ...

I stayed at the campground nearby in a pop up camper we drove down. This year though, we're going to try and get a cabin at the same campground. It's a bazillion $$ cheaper than the hotel and I think a lot more fun, though not NEARLY as luxurious.

You can buy things up til Sunday night at like 5pm whenever the trade show closes.

I LOVE the Hershey show. The buzz there is second to none! If you want to go make a reservation soon because many of the the hotels fill up. All the vendors are there and the classes are excellent. Already looking forward to it!

          I went many years ago...

The hershey Lodge is right there where the seminars etc are. I came the day before to go to the amish restaurant tour etc. The apple cider was the best ever. The weather perfect and the groomers sooo much fun. I also got to visit with my bother older-we have same dad and different moms and never lived together. Great guy and I met Susan his daughter. that was 1990 now she is married with two girls and a boy. How time flies. You won't regret it, it is sooo great but not enough time to do everything or go to all seminars. I am mobile so hung out with some other mobilers. Stayed up toooo late talking. I flew from calif. maybe the farthest one to go to Pa.The lodge and nearby restaurant is good food too. Darling hotel. The big Hershey Hotel is farther away and not convenient. Don't they offer a hotel package right at expo? The grooming competition was my first to see.....amazing!!!!!!!

I am planning on attending this event for the first time, but can't seem to get any info from Barkleigh...I've filled out the online form a few times with no response from them....I'm hoping it's not too late to make arrangements, such as flights and hotel...I would really like to know the schedule so I can plan for which days to attend. Anyone know any details, other than it's Sept 6-9th? Thanks-

Two years ago we stayed at Spinners Inn and it was only a mile from Hershey and had a really cool restaurant called What If? It was a bargain for the area. This year we're going to splurge for the Hershey Lodge. It's definitely worth going.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn = beautiful, too far away. The Hershey Lodge is lovely, great just carting your goods up to the room all day long. Hey Bubbles - bringing your camper?

                    Groomer Expo

Does anyone have specific information about what happens when? All I know is that it runs from Sept 6 - 9. I requested information from Berkleigh a couple of months ago but haven't received anything. I'm feeling like I should have booked a place to stay long ago but don't know what days to attend. Any tips from those of you who have been would be great. It would be nice to have some written information to show the vet I work for when I request the time off. The only thing I can find is what Stephen posted.

You'd better book a room if you are going, do it through expedia or one of those websites that way you'll get all the info for the hotels and and they tell you right away if it is sold out. I didn't stay over last year cause I waited to long to book a room. Info like semimars and classes will be updated shortly at barkey...umm I am thinking it was the end of july or early August for the website however if you get Groomer to Groomer Magazine info and sign up sheets will be in there, I went Sunday last year, opening to closing, took a 3 classes and left wanting more so I am going up Sat and Sun this year. Friday is not open to the public, I don't believe...some one may know better though. Sunday is the big day for bargains and I think it is only the demo models you have to wait for , til the end of the show. If you want new clippers ,scissors, shampoos etc.. you can just take em along or they will shippem' to you. I is a great show, I am looking forward to it already!!

Never been there, but why would friday not be open to the public? I was going to go all three days because Joe asked me to bring my trailer up.

Hey Lisa, I am having brain farts but I am thinking it was set up day for vendors and show peeps...and there was some party at night. I don't remember there being classes or it being generally open...HOWEVER I have been way wrong before!!
I clearly remember being dissappointed that I couldn't take all the classes I wanted cause some were Sat and some were Sunday, and I wasn't driving up on both days. So maybe thats where I get the not open Friday thing.... Sherri

                            Booked a room

I booked a room at Econo Lodge in Grantville. Anyone else staying there? I hope it's not too far away - said it was 10-15 minutes to Hershey but you never know. Anyway it was cheap and has a microwave and refrig. I'm excited!
