Thread: Oster A6 Loud!

  1. Default Oster A6 Loud!

Has anyone ever had their a6 clippers get really loud when you put blades on them? I am suspicious that it has something to do with the swivel from the motor not fitting tightly into the blade drive. Everything else seems normal. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the socket needs tightening. Hold the outside of the blade (comb) while running, to see if it quiets down. If so, the socket needs tightening.

    What is the socket?

I wondered what the socker was too. Never heard that term used in 30 yrs of grooming.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Socket is the lower part in the photo. The ears (two tabs sticking out, not the ones with the holes in them.) need to be squeezed together slightly. There is a tool for helping with this, but a little caution with a pair of pliers will do the trick.

That is what I am referring to as the latch. Still never heard it called a socket, lol, but googled it right up.
