    My mother did the same thing but since she always had small dogs, except for 1 lab mix rescue, she carried the remains for years in a medium size Rubbermaid, and when she got to WA state I setup a pet cemetery on our acreage and planted a landscape surround of annual flowers.

    How awesome to have your own pet cemetery, except that sounds like Stephen King movie.
