Oops Lifetime Shear Warranty is a real thing?

I looking for new shears and I find out they are really expensive. I used Solingen German shears long ago after I got a job at a company they provided the tools. Now I am looking for other job but most places wont provide any tools. So I am searching and searching . I got good suggestions here on the forum for cheaper shears but I found online, some company selling they shears with lifetime Warranty and Lifetime Shear Sharpening and Replacement Warranty. Is that really a lifetime Warranty? Where is a trick?
If I buy one of those super expensive shears will they sharpen or replace them for me for free "forever " Maybe I misunderstood something. (English is my second language")
Any experience? How does it work really? Is it worth to buy scissors this way or is this only business trick?

Can you post a link where we can look? Never heard of this company......so it could be the "lifetime" of the company.

Free lifetime sharpening is a newer trend that only some, not all, companies offer (Chris Christensen and Heritage come to mind). I do not have any personal experience with them so I am following this thread, but it seems kind of straightforward. They sharpen for free, you pay a shipping and insurance fee, if someone else sharpens or adjusts your shears you lose the lifetime sharpening forever.

Sorry, Yes I read online that Chris Christensen and Heritage have these offer.
I also read reviews when ppl said they have Geib shears and when they send them back to sharpen them they most of the time said :they wont to it because they were sharpened somewhere else (Even they never was sharpened)
I just wanted to know if CC and Heritage really do the free sharpening and how they know that if the scissors were sharpened somewhere else or not ?!

Glad I was WAY off base on what you were looking at.
Have heard that about Geib, saying that shears were sharpened somewhere else, as for the other 2 you mentioned, I have no experience with them....guess I was no help at all! Lol
I will say when you find a sharpener you like, then I would send all shears to him (I use Jeff at Northern Tails) and would gladly pay for sharpening from my TRUSTED sharpener.

Iíve had the same problem with Geib. I buy their stuff but I donít have them sharpen it. They always gave me the runaround. I just send to my trusted sharpener guy too.

Yep beward Geib, but I hear so many stories of about groomers that use non specialists in PET grooming shears and like Jeff says you often sharpen pet shears different than human shears. In a way I cannot blame Geib, but they could give us authorized other sharpeners specialists in pet shears like Jeff.
