Corporate is the only place I know that does perdormance based bonuses, and that was only for the Salon managers. If they stayed undè budget and the salon generated X amount in revenue they were paid 60% instead of 50%. Most mangers I knew cut lot's of corners and overworked their staff to make their numbers. Not all mind you. Small shops usually offered as previously mentioned incentives like a paid lunches or small tokens of appreciation. Most "bonuses" though were year end. Some were based on how many years you were with the company or what a weeks average pay would be.

Curious, do you feel you need to offer an incentive to increase productivity? Or just wanted to offer something to show employee appreciation?

Other than a holiday bonus, never got one.

We only give holiday bonus and it comes in handy as they use it for shopping from what I hear. It's hard as grooming owners to pay well, and then on top of that pay bonuses.
