Ohhhhkay I have been doing big oopsies. I thought kennel trims were the same length all over with the clean face/feet, pom tail, etc. Like a 4 strip or 7 strip, no fuller legs. Sooo.... what's the difference then between a "modified" puppy trim and a kennel trim? So confused now6

I call my grooms kennel and Teddy bear. Kennel clips are anything #4 or shorter with clippered legs (still sometimes slightly longer than body). Feet and head don't count towards my trim classification.

Teddy bears are anything over #4 (excluding, of course, breed trims)

I'll mix the two though and do a kennel body/Teddy leg.

the diffrence is.....is that times have changed LOL!!! and people have modified the trims to suit the owners lifestyles lol! i mean in the 4 grooming salons ive worked in...not ONE of them did a true bichon head. not a one. because the OWNERS dont want it! they want the long ears lol not that the dog looks like it has no ears lol!

and i just realized that ive been on this board for 6 yrs! woohoo for me!

That "Bichon/Poodle Clip" is so ucking fugly I can't believe it. And the "Teddy Bear" thing isn't far behind.

If we had pictures like that in our waiting area as examples of how we do the dogs, we'd be out of business by the weekend.

LOL Pink next time someone asks

I have the Stone Guide to Dog Grooming. That was what my instructor recommended waaaay back in 1993. It certainly wasn't as detailed as Notes from the grooming table and it continues to sit in my bookcase.

That looks like the dogs do when they come in to be groomed. That poor bichon/poo. can't even see with all the hair that is in its eyes, and the poodle has the front of its topknot cut off.

Oh ****. 4sibes, when I said to bless his poor little heart I meant that literally, his heart just looks like it needs blessing. It was absolutely in no way a critique.
