I use a 5/8 toe blade. Now I know that some have trouble with "slicing and dicing" with this blade, my instructor many, many years ago would not use this blade or allow me to because she "sliced and diced" with it. When I moved on I started using the 5/8 toe blade and have never "sliced and diced". Having said that I am looking for a small clipper with a light now, as I get older my eyes need more light on those feet!

To all you people who use a mini arco, the feet dont get irritated from doing a #30 rev on them? I have one at home for tiny paw pads but never though to use it on feet due to the fact that its not an adjustable blade.

Another mini arco user here and no, I never knick feet. Knock wood. I only use it for the finishing work though.

I have a Laube ivac hair pen for using with taxi Vac, been SO helpful for clean feet on little wiggly ones, also small and quiet. The suction just lifts the hair so nicely.

I have the Laube IVAC and a 5/8 blade. I also have found that if you do the feet before you clip the toenails it works better. I don't exactly know why other than you can almost guide the blade along the nail and keep it away from the webbing of the foot. Good luck.

My two favorites are my ipen(Laube Vac version of tiny trimmer) and my Wahl li-ion trimmer.

I use both my Bravura & my mini Bravura on feet. For the stray hair around the nails I turn the trimmer bottom up & trim the hair that way, the teeth push the hair up & the moving parts are kept away from the nail bed. It still takes a light touch but it works well.

I do not even attempt tiny poodles. They simply are not my bag. Not at all.

I use the HV dryer to fluff the foot hair up really well. Once it's all lifted off the skin & away from the toenails, the feet can be clipped in half the time, and with much less risk of nicking.
