Has anyone used the Grooming Business in a Box? Looking for some reviews. I'm looking for something beyond the original Madison book and the software looks like it can really help with forecasting.

I'm thinking of getting it too. Another question for those that have it: does it help plan the layout of a salon?

Looking at the info online it seems salon layout will be a separate module coming out later. Hopefully Stephen will correct me if I'm wrong.
I learned so much while using the box. I know so much more about the grooming business in general, and so much more about business finances!
It is a LOT to read, learn, digest, and do. I actually think that I "over-impressed" the people to whom I have presented my plan so far.
I haven't had much luck getting financing because of the bank crunch and not having much cash on hand... However, that is the ONLY reason. Everyone is saying they are very impressed with my planning and totally have faith that my business will deliver as promised, but they need that 20%.
It doesn't help with salon floor planning. Wish it did
Just get it. I'm telling you, knowing what I know now, $100 is an insane value for what you get from that product. I hope Stephen doesn't read that - haha!
Stephen: Floor plans is a delayed but upcoming separate module but it is happening and we do free evaluations every week for groomers. Draw your shop or salon space you are leasing and what you are thinking about, fax it to me and we email back comments and suggestions, no charge of course. We do several a week until such time as we can release the CD with many sample plans...down to a science really.
I am interested in getting the box, but I have a MAC. Is there a way I can still use it? Mac's can run windows, but I'm not really interested in buying windows just to use the "box".
Stephen: The files run on Mac as long as you use a Mac compatible Office or OpenOffice.
I can't think of a better way to spend a hundred bucks! It teaches you what you need to know financially to stay in business--made me realize that I needed to borrow more $ than I first thought. And the bank was really impressed with my business plan. And the projections gives me a little peace of mind--I tend to worry a lot about money.
Thanks Stephen. I guess "the box" will be my christmas present to myself.
