<div>Hi, I am a new groomer that is about to go into grooming academy. I have used the Kim laube Cowboy clippers for my horse and loved it, but im not sure how the lightening clippers are and if they are any good? Please give me you opiions on the laube clippers, especially compared to the andis clippers (those are what everyone at my salon uses). I will be grooming all types of dogs, every size, so I need something universal, not to big, and powerful enough to get through mats when needed but quite enough for say a more skittish dog. Thanks.</div>

<br />
I understand how the knife like bladed rakes work, they split the mats and basically cut knots out but I don't get this V rake. I don't know how it works and if I should try it or not. I had a bunch of mats to comb out on a standard poodle and ended up cutting out a lot of hair with a knife like bladed rake and don't want to have to use it again. She feels like her hair is thinning from all the hair cutting :(</div>

<div>I have a 7 year old Bichon. She is well behaved, but does not like baths or hairdryers too much. She pulled a ligament in April and has not been groomed since before then. She also has degenerative disk disease. She has a hard time standing and can sit for 3 to 4 minutes before going down, She is about 23 lbs. And VERY matted right now. I could not go near her for months without her crying out in pain, and or running from me. My husband and I want to so this ourselves. I do not expect her to look good the first few times b/c I know I am going to have to cut some of the mats out. She has them on her lower legs and side of her face. I know I am to use a 4 or 5 cut on her. But I am SO lost on brand of clippers. I do not need a professional. I need one just for her. I also have small hands. and I want a quiet one since she barks at dryers, sweepers, etc. Friends have told me about Andis AG2, but reviews say it runs hot fast. I do not want that either. I would really, really appreciate any advice anyone can give me on grooming just her. What will I need? Thank you in advance.</div>

I have had him clipped with the lion cut and they thin his hair but I don't know what to buy. I do know they said they used the #7 blade but I can't find that anywhere. Can someone tell me what the sizes mean? are the larger numbers long or short? I don't want to spend a fortune as I only have one dog i just want something that will work do a good job. If someone could direct me to either an article that describes this or tell me so i will know what to buy. <br />

<div>It's time to purchase another set of corded clippers. After thoroughly reviewing all of the great advise and experience in this forum I've decided to purchase a Wahl clipper but can't decide between the KM2, Switchblade or Storm (not sure if Storm II is any different). I use the Andis UltraEdge as well Wahl's Chromado and/or Arco for sanitary, pads, etc. <br />
<br />
The majority of my clients prefer pet and/or puppy cuts. I also groom a variety of sizes and breeds. I am good about clipper and blade maintenance, but I wouldn't mind if I didn't have to do it so often! haha<br />
<br />
I would appreciate any advise and experience that any of you have to offer regarding the Wahl KM2, Switchblade or Storm.<br />
<br />
Thanks a bunch!</div>
